Just another blog…

Yay!

So, over the weekend we headed down to my Dad’s house. When we walked in, my grandparents were sitting in the living room. They came in from California and surprised us! I love my grandparents!!! It’s so great to have grandparents who make the effort to come visit with us, and it sucks living 3,000 [...]

No, We Didn’t Fall Off The Face of the Earth.

Yeah, still here. I just find myself so tired when I’m not working that I’d rather do other stuff. I do want to maintain our blog though. So, what have we been up to lately, you may ask?
Well, I took a part-time job at a local grocery store (Food Lion) to help us pay the [...]

Saturday Hike…

On Saturday, Johnny, Roxie and I took a 7 mile round trip hike along the Appalachian Trail in Botetourt County just north of Roanoke. We chose it from a list of local hikes on roanoke.com. It was called the AT Baby Hike (as in it was just a small chunk of the entire 2,100 mile [...]

Snaggletooth…

Here’s a little laugh for your day…

We’ve never seen her make that face before. I quickly grabbed the camera and snapped a few photos. I think she knew we were laughing at her.

By the way, if you have any free time, stop by The Health Nut for a chance to win a Nalgene Water Bottle. [...]

A Big One!

Icicle, that is! Take a look at this sucker hanging off of our house!

And take a look at the view from our back porch. Beautiful!

Snow Day!

Yesterday, we woke up to a glorious world of white. Snow blanketed everything in sight, and it was so beautiful! So, I thought I would share with you our snowy morning in pictures!

Before Johnny went to work, I made us a nice hot breakfast of whole wheat yogurt pancakes, turkey sausage and bananas, complete with [...]

A Blanket of White…

This morning, we awoke to a beautiful blanket of white, glorious snow! It started snowing yesterday afternoon and continued throughout the night. All-in-all, Roanoke got about 9 inches! Funny that the first (and more than likely last) snowfall of the “season” happened during the first few days of March! Click the above picture for a [...]

Songs…

I have two songs stuck in my head. They’ve been playing non-stop for a few days now.

“Vienna” by Billy Joel (you may have heard this in the movie “13 Going on 30″):

and “My Father’s Gun” (you may have heard this one in “Elizabethtown”):

Good stuff. I don’t mind it too much when I have songs stuck [...]

Valentines and Two Recipes: Yumminess! - Bourbon Chicken and Channa Masala

Once again, apologies for my two-week absence. I know it’s no excuse, but I had a semi-long-term sub job that included actually creating some lesson plans, which required spending some of my time at home working! Imagine that! I guess I just need to figure out how to manage my time better to allow myself [...]

Sunset…

Sometimes it’s the little things in life, like a perfect sunset, that remind us how beautiful our world is…
